Anna Soteras to lead BBRC’s Clinical Operations Facility

Anna Soteras has been appointed Director of the Clinical Operations Facility at BBRC, a key area in the development of the centre’s clinical research. Over nearly ten years at the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and BBRC, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in clinical operations, which has given her in-depth knowledge of the centre’s operations, teams, and strategic projects.

With extensive experience in clinical operations, Soteras will head the Clinical Operations Facility, from which she will lead the co-ordination of the trials and longitudinal studies conducted at BBRC, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and excellence at every stage. Her leadership will be crucial to consolidating the facility’s role as a driver of innovation and a benchmark in clinical research, while strengthening BBRC’s position as an international reference centre in Alzheimer’s and brain health research.

About the Clinical Operations Facility

The Clinical Operations Facility’s mission is to ensure the proper execution of clinical research projects at all stages, from design and implementation to close-out. It also manages the repository of biological samples, ensuring their preservation, traceability, and integrity, and provides strategic support to research throughout all phases The multidisciplinary team that makes up the facility works in close co-ordination with other areas of the centre and the Foundation, with the aim of promoting projects that contribute to the prevention, early detection, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.

With this appointment, BBRC reaffirms its commitment to scientific excellence and to strengthening its research infrastructure, which enables progress in the understanding and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases.
