Return

I am a psychologist with background in neuroimaging and neurobiology. My research interests are diverse and range from the neuroplasticity of learning and memory to the interplay between stress and cognition. I started my research activity studying how the human brain reacts to psychological or physical trauma, and how such traumatic experiences precipitate psychiatry disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or depression.

To this respect, I have investigated the interactions between susceptibility genetic risk variants and environmental factors in determining to what extent the human brain is vulnerable or resilient to psychopathology. Since 2016, I am committed to research in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), an irreversible neurologic disorder which disrupts memory and executive functions of the affected patients. My mission is to provide a better understanding for the mechanisms involved in the preclinical AD using cognitive and imaging data, along with biomarkers and genetic information.
