50 researchers from around the world visit the BBRC

Barcelona hosts this week the 16th International Conference on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases (AD / PD 2022), a conference that brings together prestigious researchers from around the world in research on the mechanisms and treatments of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative diseases. Coinciding with the first day of this conference, the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) opened its doors on March 15 with nearly 50 international researchers collaborating with the research center.

The meeting was attended by Cristina Maragall, President of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, and a reception and presentation by Dr. Arcadi Navarro, director of the Foundation and the BBRC. In addition, Henrik Zetterberg, Professor of Neurochemistry at the University of Gothenburg and leader of the Biomarkers in Fluids for neurodegenerative diseases group at  the University College of London. Afterwards, the guests were able to enjoy a guided tour of the BBRC and, most importantly, visited the main research facilities, such as the clinical trials unit, the neuroimaging platform and the new laboratory for early detection of Alzheimer's with a blood test.
