We share the BBRC Strategic Plan 2022-2026

The Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) is at a key moment in its history to become even more of a leading player in Alzheimer's research internationally. In order to guide the entity's growth and adaptation to new scientific and institutional challenges, and establish priorities that will be developed over the next five years, the Pasqual Maragall Foundation research center has developed the BBRC Strategic Plan 2022-2026. The result is a synthesis of a strategic reflection driven by the changes experienced in the world of Alzheimer's disease and in the scientific environment in which we carry out our research.

The BBRC Strategic Plan, approved in 2022, is based on four axes: Impact research; Management, organization and processes; Talent attraction and personal development; and Communication. These pillars define a framework of action for the center's current and future research, while assigning a prominent role to the cohort of study participants. In addition, they also stress the need to create new and powerful strategic alliances in parallel to the reinforcement of their own research. On the other hand, the roadmap establishes a proposal for the center's Vision, Mission and Values. The document can be consulted at this link.

The first phase of implementation of the axes of the Plan has been carried out in 2022 with the collaboration of a team of 30 people from the BBRC and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, thanks to which structures and organizations adapted to the current needs of research, the definition of processes for project management, as well as the strategic alliances to be achieved, and new actions for people management and communication. During 2023 and throughout the next years of deployment of the Plan, the BBRC will continue working on the implementation of the established strategic lines, in parallel to the objectives defined by the Strategic Plan of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation 2020-2025.
