I am a senior biomedical data scientist with more than 30 years of experience leading research and innovation at the intersection of computational biology, genomics, clinical data, and artificial intelligence. My career has combined leadership roles in both academia and industry, including CNIO, CIPF, Fundación Progreso y Salud, IBiS, and Glaxo Wellcome.
My research has focused on using systems biology and AI to turn genomic and clinical data into actionable knowledge for precision medicine, personalized healthcare, and drug discovery. I have published more than 380 papers in international journals and have contributed to major national and international initiatives such as CIBERER, IMPaCT-data, ELIXIR, and 1+Million Genomes.
I am particularly interested in building the infrastructures that make data-driven medicine possible. My goal is to help transform biomedical and clinical data into evidence, knowledge, and real impact for research, healthcare, and society.
