I studied the double degree of Mathematics and Applied Statistics specializing in biostatistics and biogenetics.

My line of research focuses on the study of the influence of genetic factors on changes in the structure of the brain, and on the relationship of these changes in processes of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration.

Currently, I am leading the analysis of the ALFA-genetics project (ALFA-optional) in order to identify genetic risk / protective factors potentially related to the etiology of Alzheimer's disease (Neuroimaging Research Group led by Dr. Juan D. Gispert - BarcelonaBeta Brain Research Center). Also, I lead the analysis to elucidate the patterns of transcriptomic profiles of the brain in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders (Computational Biology of RNA Processing Group led by Dr. Roderic Guigo - Center for Genomic Regulation), and I am working on deciphering the underlying genetic factors of the cerebral atrophy (Precision Epidemiology lab led by Dr. Hieab H. Adams - Erasmus Medical Center).

Likewise, I am part of the team of international consortia based on the identification of risk genes related to neurodevelopmental factors, and other lifestyle factors (EGG and EAGLE Consortia). And I am part of the main team of the UNITED Consortium, with the aim of deciphering factors underlying neurodegenerative processes worldwide.
