Context
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation was established in 2008 with the mission of promoting and advancing biomedical research of the highest quality. The Foundation is fully committed to playing a decisive role in contributing global solutions to the problem of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as in raising public awareness about the disease.
The Foundation’s research is conducted at the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), a research center established in partnership with Pompeu Fabra University and the “la Caixa” Foundation.
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation’s vision is to achieve a future free of Alzheimer’s, within the framework of active and healthy aging associated with positive experiences and free from cognitive problems and decline. To this end, the BBRC’s research focuses on the primary and secondary prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, which is made possible by the participation of thousands of people who voluntarily contribute to scientific studies to ensure that, in the near future, there will be far fewer people affected by the disease.
The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization. Its financial resources come from philanthropic donations from organizations and companies, as well as from an extensive network of more than 115,000 members who help fund research. The research center’s scientific staff also competitively secures grants and subsidies, primarily from European funds and international foundations.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a young, well-established, and growing foundation that, together with the BBRC, currently employs more than 310 people. The FPM team includes cross-functional departments such as maintenance, IT, finance, procurement, human resources, communications, social programs, and fundraising, while the BBRC’s scientific team consists of researchers and professionals in the fields of medicine, biology, psychology, and nursing, among others. All of this takes place in a dynamic environment where ongoing challenges are an integral part of the Foundation’s work.
Job Description
The Foundation is seeking to hire a student for the Scientific Coordination Department.
The selected candidate, reporting directly to the Scientific Coordination team, will be responsible for providing administrative and financial management support for the department’s daily tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of internal processes and ensuring coordination with the various departments involved.
Main Responsibilities
Creation and Management of Purchase Orders: Preparing, processing, and tracking purchase orders in accordance with the organization’s internal procedures, ensuring their proper validation and coordination with the various departments involved.
Tracking Invoices and Delivery Notes: Receiving, reviewing, and verifying invoices and delivery notes to ensure they match the orders placed, ensuring proper documentation, and resolving any administrative issues.
Recording invoices in the accounting system: entering, classifying, and validating invoices within the organization’s accounting system, ensuring the quality of the recorded information and compliance with established administrative deadlines.
Cost control and tracking: monitoring expenses associated with suppliers, purchases, and services; tracking budgets; and providing support in cost analysis to contribute to efficient financial management.
Education and Experience
- Advanced-level student in Business Administration and Finance.
- Language proficiency: Catalan and Spanish. English, advanced level.

- Basic knowledge of accounting and financial management.
- Proficiency in Excel and office software.
- Proactivity, independence, and ability to work in a team.
Job Description
