CoPATH-AD
The coPATH-AD project receives funding under the 2023 Knowledge Generation Projects, granted by the State Research Agency (Agencia Estatal de Investigación [AEI]). With a €210,000 award, the project will be focused on improving diagnosis tools for dementia through the use of advanced biomarkers. Specifically, it will aim at identifying recurring protein pathologies, such as TDP43 and α-synuclein, and analysing how the presence of these co-pathologies affects the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
These tools will be critical to diagnosing dementias, such as Lewy body dementia or specific cases of frontotemporal dementia. Thus, the project will contribute to obtaining precise diagnoses, personalised treatments, and better-targeted clinical trials, significantly advancing research and treatment for different types of dementia in line with precision medicine and innovative therapeutic goals.
The project PID2023-153312OB-I00 is funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/FEDER, UE.
