The Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the BBRC participate in the OpenPRBB

Every October, the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) holds an open day, the OpenPRBB, with the aim of bringing the public closer to the research work carried out by the centers that make up this infrastructure, through free activities such as workshops, talks and guided tours of the laboratories.

This year, the Pasqual Maragall Foundation has participated in the meeting with the "Paint your neuron" workshop, a craft space designed especially for the little ones. In the Foundation's space, it was also possible to play the "Numbers not to forget" memory game, where everyone who came could test their knowledge of some relevant Alzheimer's data.

In addition, Dr. Ana Fernández-Arcos, neurologist and researcher in the Clinical Research Group and Risk Factors for Neurodegenerative Diseases of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), offered the scientific micro-talk "Sleep well to live better. Impact of sleep on your brain and your health." Dr. Fernández-Arcos emphasized the importance of good sleep hygiene to maintain good physical and mental health, and outlined the requirements for quality sleep.

Nearly 1,200 people attended the different activities of the OpenPRBB 2024, taught by 250 volunteers who work in the eight research centers that make up the Park.
