The Pasqual Maragall Foundation has launched the “Get to know the research” initiative, a series of video interviews about the studies, projects, and lines of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), its research center, to promote the multiple areas of research related to Alzheimer's disease in which its researchers work.
Get to know the research publishes new content every two months that explains the BBRC projects and programs to bring scientific content closer in an informative format and with understandable language to all types of audiences. Currently, video interviews are available about Alfa Sleep, a cross-sectional study with the aim of delving into the relationship between sleep disorders and the onset or progression of Alzheimer's, with Dr. Oriol Grau; or HeBe, whose objective is to identify brain rejuvenation factors that circulate in the blood to be used as therapeutic targets for the disease, led by Dr. Marc Suárez-Calvet. You can also find the study of the brain through mini-brains, personalized organoids of human brains, with Dr. Laura García González; or the genetic architecture of neurodegenerative processes, a study to quantify the genetic predisposition to neurodegeneration, with Dr. Natàlia Vilor-Tejedor.
In the upcoming months, validation studies of the effectiveness and impact of support programs for caregivers on the mental health and well-being of the participants will be released. All videos of the initiative can be found in this YouTube playlist.
