Clinical Operations Facility

The Clinical Operations Facility is responsible for the cohorts of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) and their sub-studies and linked projects, ensuring the rigorous execution of clinical activities with standards of quality, regulatory compliance and strategic support for research. It organises visits and longitudinal follow-up of participants and provides support across the full life cycle of clinical trials, from design and set-up to monitoring and close‑out. In addition, it manages and administers the repository of biological samples, ensuring their preservation, traceability and integrity, and implements systematic verification of quality standards and regulatory requirements at every stage.

The multidisciplinary team that makes up the facility works in close co-ordination with other areas of the centre and the Foundation, with the aim of promoting projects that contribute to the prevention, early detection, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. The facility is led by Anna Soteras.
