
Neurology Director at the BBRC
Context
The Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) is a research center created in 2012 by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, with the support of Pompeu Fabra University and «la Caixa» Foundation. Its mission is to provide innovative solutions to decipher and prevent biological changes and cognitive dysfunctions associated with neurodegenerative diseases, with a special focus on Alzheimer’s prevention.
The BBRC develops cutting-edge scientific activity with state-of-the-art facilities, including a 3TMR scanner exclusively for research and spaces for clinical trials, ensuring excellence through effective management and continuous peer-review. It is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), one of Europe’s most dynamic biomedical ecosystems, which fosters a multidisciplinary, collaborative, and translational research environment.
The center holds the HR Excellence in Research award (HRS4R) from the European Commission, recognizing its commitment to the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct, and offers a stimulating, transparent, and internationally attractive working environment.
The Neurology Director at the BBRC will play a key role in the field of dementia and neurodegenerative diseases, leading the integration of research, clinical practice, and prevention. This strategic responsibility is conceived as a part-time role, complementary to the candidate’s main activity as a consolidated Group Leader within the BBRC.
The selected candidate is expected to provide scientific and clinical leadership, strategic guidance, and collective inspiration, contributing to the transformation of the healthcare model towards personalized medicine, advanced use of biomarkers, integration of new therapies, and a holistic approach to patients, caregivers, and their environment.
