Members of the Trisomy 21 Research Society tour the BBRC

A group of twelve researchers from the Trisomy 21 Research Society (T21RS), an international scientific organisation specialized in Down syndrome, visited the Pasqual Maragall Foundation on 5 June. They got to learn the on-going projects of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) thanks to the explanations of BBRC researchers Juan Domingo Gispert, Carles Falcon and Gemma Salvadó. They also visited its research facilities, like the MRI room and the extractions room.

The BBRC was the end point of a tour that led them to the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and to two of its research centres, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).

The members of the T21RS were in Barcelona to attend the T21RS Internacional Conference 2019, a congress on the latest findings and therapeutic advances linked to this genetic anomaly. The Congress took place at the CosmoCaixa Museum in Barcelona 6 – 9 June.
