The first edition of "HACK'a'BRAIN", an initiative of the Brain Film Festival, promoted by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, has had a prominent participation from the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), its research center. The event, which took place at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) between March 7th and 9th, brought together students and professionals from different backgrounds to create innovative solutions for brain health.
BBRC researchers Oriol Grau, Anna Brugulat, Clara Gallay, Gemma Salvadó and Marc Suárez have mentored five scientific dissemination projects based on three current research lines:
Furthermore, participants have the support of experts in communication, dissemination and audiovisual production, such as Judit Rubinat (Nike, Barça), Andrea Faroppa (Sónar +D), Jordi Siscart (Onirium), Paula Talero (Fundación Pasqual Maragall), Luis Nacenta (CCCB) and Luis Quevedo (Brain Hackers).
More than 30 people from different fields (neurology, psychology, design, marketing, audiovisual, and biomedical research, among others) attended the conferences, moderated by Nina Gramunt, publicity expert and neuropsychologist at the Pasqual Maragall Foundation.
The works were evaluated by an expert jury made up of Ricard Robles, director and founder of the Sónar festival, Pilar Solanes, advisor to the Barcelona Provincial Council on matters related to public health and healthy aging, and Àngels Arrazola, director of communications at the Foundation. The winning projects will be announced during the closing gala of the Brain Film Festival.
