From August 27 to 31, the city of Toronto will host a new edition of the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), the world’s largest gathering on Alzheimer’s and dementia research. As every year, the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) will participate with a prominent scientific presence: 29 contributions including oral presentations and posters, developed by 24 researchers from the center.
While a large part of the team will travel to Canada, there will also be virtual participation, highlighting BBRC’s ongoing commitment to knowledge sharing and international scientific collaboration.
In total, BBRC will contribute 7 oral presentations and 22 posters covering various lines of research, with a special focus on the prevention of Alzheimer’s in preclinical stages, biomarkers, and the advances made possible through data from the ALFA study and other center-led projects. The full program can be found here.
"Participating in international congresses such as the AAIC gives us the opportunity to connect with leading researchers from around the world. These spaces are key to share knowledge, contrast ideas and enrich our projects with new scientific perspectives. In addition, they foster the creation and consolidation of collaborations that help us to jointly advance Alzheimer's research," explains Dr. Gemma Salvadó, leader of the BBRC Neuroimaging group.
With this strong presence, BBRC once again consolidates its position as a center of excellence for Alzheimer’s research in Europe, adding scientific voices and evidence to a conference that sets the pace for global advances in the field every year.
