We strengthen our leadership with new appointments to the Board of Trustees of the Foundation and the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center

The governing bodies of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and our research center, the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), are incorporating changes in their composition to give continuity to the scientific and social project of both institutions, focused on advancing the prevention and knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases.

Josep Martorell assumes the presidency of the Board of Trustees of the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center and becomes part of the Board of Trustees of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, thus consolidating his role in the strategic direction of the research center.

In addition, Marcel Prunera, after several years as a member of the Executive Committee, has been appointed Chair of this body, replacing Montserrat Vendrell at both the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center. He also assumes the position of fourth vice-president of the Board of Trustees of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation.

Montserrat Vendrell will continue as second vice-president of the Board of Trustees of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and as a member of the Executive Committee in both institutions.

The Board of Trustees of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center plays a fundamental role as the highest governing body, ensuring the correct strategic direction and driving the mission of both entities. Its commitment, experience, and vision are key to guaranteeing the strength of the scientific and social project, as well as to continuing to advance with rigor, transparency, and ambition in the fight against neurodegenerative diseases.
